Mission Commission

West Swamp has always been a mission-minded congregation, and the church today is building on its rich heritage of sharing God’s love with the people of our community and the world.

Our goals for 2017 are:

  • Encourage and assist any West Swamp individual or group in pursuing any mission project or activity
  • Continue to build stronger ties with these local missions:
    • AHUB (Advocates for the Homeless of Upper Bucks)
    • Camp Men-O-Lan
    • Food Pantries (Quakertown & Trumbauersville)
    • Quakertown area nursing homes
    • Crossroads Community Center of Philadelphia
    • Solidarity and Harmony Church of Philadelphia
    • Ripple in Allentown
  • Increase awareness of local and world-wide outreach opportunities and encourage participation in a timely and effective manner

Our commission does not (and cannot!) do all the mission of West Swamp alone. We encourage all our members to find a mission to get involved with and let the love of Jesus Christ work through them in whatever they may do.

August Project: MCC School Kits

We will be collecting items for MCC School Kits all through August. Donate complete kits, single items or money toward purchasing items. Here’s what we need: https://mcc.org/get-involved/kits/school

June Project (completed)

At our 300th Anniversary Celebration June 24, we assembled 100 prisoner care kits (items donated by Swamp Mennonite Church) and 63 grocery boxes. Thanks to all who donated items or money, and special thanks to those who put everything together!
