Kingdom investing

Guest speaker Franco Salvatori, a Congregational Financial Consultant of Everance, reminded us that "where your treasure is, there your heart is also." Looking at Matthew 6:19-34, he encouraged us to set our destination on God's kingdom.

Songs of the Psalms

Joan Hallman let us through the books of the Psalms as we celebrated a Music Sunday. Along with the congregation singing many psalm-based hymns, the choir sang a version of Psalm 95.

Kingdom easements

On World Communion Sunday we joined with the global family of God in observing the Lord's supper. Pastor Jeff Wright spoke on Matthew 21:33-46.

The power of a good question

Guest preacher Danilo Sanchez focused on Matthew 6:33, asking good questions that point us to "seeking first the Kingdom of God."

Peace through solidarity

As we joined Anabaptists around the world to observe Peace Sunday, Ben Rush (a son of the congregation now living in Lancaster) shared his perspective on solidarity, drawing inspiration from Exodus 3:1-10, John 13:1-17, and his work with Mennonite Action. And the choir is back after their summer hiatus, singing "With my voice alone."

One voice

Moving back up to the sanctuary as summer winds down, we welcomed Pastor Regina Wentz, Education Curator of Mennonite Heritage Center, Harleysville, Pa. Using John 17:1-11, Pastor Regina focused on the unity cultivated by disciples through worshiping together.

Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, start all over again

Quoting a song first used in the Ginger Rogers/Fred Astaire movie Swing Time and focusing on Psalm 116:1-2, Pastor Jeff Wright reminds us that we in the church are often called to reorientation – change happens, and we move from lament to reality to praise – because trust between ourselves and God is a constantly renewable resource.

The quiet, confident surrender of a life in Christ

Pastor Charlene Smalls from Ripple Church in Allentown blessed us with an inspiring message based on Luke 22:28-29 and 39-42. Timely words as we begin our transition period.

What's the big idea?

On Pastor Michael's final Sunday, he leaves us with a reminder of Jesus' Great Commandment and Great Commission, from Matthew 22:36-39 and 28:18-30. Blessings on Pastor Michael and Sue as they start the next step of their journey in Goshen, IN.
